Explore emerging Product Management topics

Product Management is constantly evolving. New technologies, business models, customer expectations and societal challenges continuously reshape the way products are conceived, developed and managed.

EuPMA Working Groups bring together Product Managers and experts from different companies, industries and backgrounds to explore emerging topics, compare experiences and develop new perspectives together.

Each Working Group focuses on a relevant or still-evolving area of Product Management. Participants contribute their practical experience, challenge established approaches, investigate new ideas and work together to build a deeper understanding of the topic.

The objective is not only to discuss what is changing, but to help advance Product Management knowledge and practice.

Whenever possible, the results of the Working Groups are transformed into insights, models, guidelines or other useful resources and shared openly with the wider Product Management community.

By combining different experiences and perspectives, EuPMA helps Product Managers explore what is next and contribute directly to the evolution of their profession.

Explore emerging topics. Develop new perspectives. Advance Product Management together.

Working Groups

Sustainability as a Competitive Factor in User Experience

Sustainability is often treated as a constraint, a compliance requirement or a communication topic. But in many products it can also become an important part of the user experience and a source of competitive differentiation.

This Working Group explores how sustainability can create value that customers can perceive, understand and appreciate throughout the product experience.

The group will investigate questions such as:

  • When does sustainability actually influence customer choice?
  • Which sustainability attributes are visible or meaningful to users?
  • Can durability, repairability, lower consumption, reduced waste or responsible materials improve the user experience?
  • How can sustainability create differentiation without adding unnecessary complexity or cost?
  • When does sustainability become part of the product value proposition?
  • How can Product Managers avoid greenwashing and ensure that sustainability claims are supported by real product characteristics?
  • How should sustainability considerations influence product requirements and design decisions?

The objective is to develop practical perspectives, questions and tools that help Product Managers turn sustainability from a constraint into a meaningful source of customer value and competitive advantage.

The group will be active for 4 months (sep-dec 2026).
