Product Management Manifesto

We drive the future of Product Management in Europe

product management manifesto.jpeg

Our main goals are to advance and spread Product Management knowledge and to create an open network where Product Managers, professionals and companies can exchange experience, perspectives and ideas.

We believe this openness is essential because Product Managers operate in an increasingly complex, uncertain and interconnected world. No individual, company or discipline has all the answers. Learning from others, experimenting, questioning established practices and combining different perspectives are becoming fundamental capabilities.

We also strongly believe that profit is not the ultimate goal.

Products are a means to create a better world.

They should generate value for the people and organizations that create them, for the people who use them and for the wider society and environment in which they exist.

We recognize the realities of economics and competition. Organizations must be economically sustainable. They must innovate, compete and excel in order to survive and prosper.

But excellence cannot be achieved by sacrificing ethics, responsibility or human values.

For Product Managers, this creates a broader responsibility. Our role is not only to build products that customers want, that outperform competitors and generate profit. It is also to understand the consequences of the decisions we make and the products we help bring into the world.

We therefore believe that great Product Management means pursuing:

  • Value, not only features.
  • Prosperity, not only profit.
  • Excellence, without compromising ethics.
  • Innovation, with responsibility for its consequences.
  • Knowledge, strengthened through open sharing.
  • Collaboration, across companies, disciplines and cultures.
  • Products that improve life, for those who create them and those who use them.

Don’t just build better products. Build a better world through better products.
