Welcome to Steelcity: a city built on hard work and steel.
For more than a century, Steelcity was the industrial heart of the region. Machines were designed here, structures were built here, and children were taught to use their hands and their minds together.
Its technical schools were a source of civic pride. Its factories provided work for entire generations. Families believed deeply in the value of skills, craftsmanship, and technical competence.
But the world has changed.
In recent years, many traditional industries have closed or declined.
Former industrial buildings have been transformed into creative spaces, startup hubs, and digital laboratories.
Today, Steelcity lives between two worlds:
- the tradition of making and engineering excellence
- the growing pressure of digital innovation
The CEO of one of Steelcity’s historic companies, producing educational toys, now wants to lead the business into the digital era and toward servitization.
The challenge is to identify, design and validate new products and services that can complement the company’s traditional mechanical products, which alone are no longer sufficient to support future growth.
