Product Definition

From User Needs to Product Requirements

Product Definition turns an initial product idea into a feasible set of initial product requirements.

Starting from the strategic playing field, target customers and brand positioning, it explores user needs and desires, defines the intended experience and product capabilities and translates them into the requirements needed to start development.

These are initial requirements, not a complete specification: in an Agile approach, part of how the product should work is progressively defined and refined during development.
